Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description We have a client seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to join their team in Houston. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical designer and possess a strong understanding of Autodesk Inventor, and Plant 3D. You will play a crucial role in converting customer requirements into detailed engineering specifications, including drawings and bills of materials, while providing P&ID support.

Responsibilities

Work from detailed order specifications to convert customer requirements into detailed engineering specifications, including drawings and bills of materials.

Create typical component fabrication and assembly drawings, General Arrangement drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs.

Create, update, and maintain drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor, and Plant 3D software.

Modify existing project drawings for modification and upgrade projects.

Maintain project and product drawings under change control in AutoDesk Vault.

Check each design against job specifications and run numerical analysis using company tools to verify design parameters.

Consider form, fit, and function in design; ensure safety in assembly, maintenance, and operation; focus on the method and ease of manufacture and assembly, and select appropriate materials of construction.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience.

Proficiency in Inventor, Plant 3D, and AutoCAD.

Experience in P&ID support and mechanical systems engineering.

Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with companies such as DXP, SPX, Proserv, Myclex, or similar is a plus.

Familiarity with conveyor systems, environmental, and water/wastewater projects is beneficial.

Work Environment This position is based in an office environment with a standard work schedule of 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Employees are offered benefits such as paid time off and holidays.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $55.00/hr.
