Job Title: Junior Estimator
We are seeking an entry‑level Junior Estimator to support mechanical construction projects and grow into a long‑term estimating role. This position is ideal for a recent Construction Management graduate with exposure to estimating or takeoff software, looking to start their career with a mechanical contractor specializing in plumbing, piping, and HVAC systems.
Responsibilities
Support smaller mechanical projects ranging from $50k to $150k.
Assist with quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, and estimate support.
Learn mechanical estimating fundamentals.
Take on additional responsibilities and larger projects as experience grows.
Receive hands‑on training in mechanical estimating, including plumbing, piping, and HVAC scopes.
Essential Skills
Construction Management degree (2‑year or 4‑year) with academic exposure to construction estimating and estimating software.
Exposure to estimating or takeoff software through coursework, labs, internships, or project work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Exposure to construction estimating in a mechanical contractor environment is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications with emphasis on plumbing, piping, and HVAC scopes.
Exposure to estimating HVAC systems, including ductwork, equipment, diffusers, and mechanical accessories.
Experience with Trimble estimating software is beneficial.
Experience with CAD is advantageous.
Revit experience is a bonus.
Ties to the Davenport area are a bonus.
Work Environment The role is onsite five days a week, with potential overtime for larger projects. The work environment fosters a great culture with a family feel, and the president is open to conversations with anyone in the building.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Davenport, IA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.04 – $28.85/hr.
