
Lead Superintendent

USPRO Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee the full scope of field operations for complex ground-up construction projects in the New London, CT area. This role is responsible for managing site safety, QA/QC execution, subcontractor coordination, documentation control, scheduling, and daily field leadership throughout the full construction lifecycle.
The Lead Superintendent will supervise day-to-day jobsite activity while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract documents and schedule milestones.
Key Responsibilities Safety
Enforce OSHA compliance and site safety requirements
Coordinate JHAs, safety planning, and subcontractor safety participation
Manage inspections, reporting, and corrective actions
Maintain site security controls and documentation readiness
QA/QC
Develop and lead project QA/QC execution plans
Coordinate mockups and benchmark reviews
Monitor compliance with drawings, specifications, and code requirements
Oversee punch list completion and project closeout activities
Support ADA, FHA, and accessibility compliance coordination
Subcontractor Management
Lead subcontractor coordination and logistics planning
Conduct pre-mobilization and weekly subcontractor meetings
Monitor productivity and manpower levels
Identify scope gaps and resolve field conflicts proactively
Document Control
Maintain daily reports and site documentation
Track permits, inspections, and testing requirements
Support shop drawing reviews and field photo documentation
Manage T&M tracking and hot-list items
Scheduling
Develop and maintain baseline schedules and 3-week look-ahead schedules
Coordinate trade sequencing and deliveries
Monitor schedule performance and communicate delays
Support schedule mitigation planning with project leadership
Relationship Management
Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, inspectors, and trade partners
Support coordination across stakeholders and field teams
Communicate project updates clearly and professionally
Project Management Support
Assist with site logistics planning and phasing strategies
Participate in OAC meetings
Track procurement coordination and field-driven cost impacts
Support BIM execution coordination as required
Leadership
Provide direction and mentorship to field staff
Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Support training and development of project personnel
Required Qualifications
8+ years of construction field leadership experience
Demonstrated experience managing ground-up construction projects
Strong understanding of subcontractor coordination and site logistics
Ability to interpret construction drawings and schedules
Strong communication and leadership skills
Experience using Procore or similar construction management platforms preferred
Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.
