Position Summary At Regions, the Relationship Banker I is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and on the phone, contributing to improving the financial wellness of customers. The role focuses on creating meaningful personal connections while processing transactions, identifying customer needs, and assisting in resolving end-to-end customer service inquiries. This role is suitable for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are looking for growth opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities
Provides a consistent optimal customer experience on the cash line while handling transactional needs (deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other teller transactions).
Answers inquiries regarding products and services and fulfills basic servicing requests (new/replacement cards, information changes, PIN resets, check reorders, and basic problem resolution).
Develops relationships with customers and stays informed about their banking relationship.
Educates customers on standard consumer products and digital solutions (mobile, online, and ATM offerings).
Assists branch and team members with basic tasks to aid in problem resolution.
Refers customers to internal experts for more complex financial goals and needs.
Follows bank processes and procedures and adheres to laws and regulations, including duties assigned by the Branch Manager; helps manage operational risks.
Contributes to achieving branch targets by identifying customer needs and recommending Regions solutions.
May conduct outbound calls to educate customers on emerging technology and assist with financial needs.
This position requires tracking time for hours worked in excess of 40 per week and is eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to work Saturdays as needed
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions
Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained monitor attention
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds
Preferences
One (1) year of banking, cash-handling, and/or customer service experience
Skills And Competencies
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines
Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to oversee large sums of cash
Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills

Compensation Details Pay ranges are job specific and provided as a point-of-market reference. Other factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, location, and performance influence pay. The target information below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range where the position is located.
Minimum Job Range Target: $39,601.10 USD
Median $46,880.00 USD
Incentive Pay Plans This role is eligible to participate in a formulaic incentive plan with potential to earn incentives based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
