Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries
Reports to:
Senior Pastor/SPRC
Position Status:
Full Time
Pay:
$45,000-$50,000 per year
Virginia Beach UMC seeks a passionate, energetic, and faith-driven candidate to lead and grow our Student and Young Adult Ministries
Key responsibilities
Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, and special events
Develop and implement programs for young adults
Build meaningful relationships with youth (grades 6-12) and their families
Coordinate mission trip, retreats, and service opportunities
Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers
Collaborate with church staff to integrate youth into the life of the church
Provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students
Qualifications
Strong personal Christian faith and commitment to ministry
Experience working with youth in a church setting
Excellent communications and leadership skills
Ability to connect with and mentor young people
Bachelor’s degree in theology, religious studies, or related field
