HVAC Technician I (#011070) Kershaw Correctional Inst, Kershaw (LANCASTER) Level

Job Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, supervise and administer a facility heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance/repair program.

Responsible for program development and supervision of emergency and preventive maintenance of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

Must participate in on‑call rotation.

Responsible for supervision of inmate work crew.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year‑for‑year basis.

A high school diploma and 5 years trade experience directly related to the area of employment.

Must be EPA (Class 2) certified for refrigerant cooling.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
