We’re looking for a

Construction Superintendent

to join our client’s growing team in Columbus. In this role, you’ll oversee construction operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably — while supporting field teams and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do You’ll oversee day-to-day construction operations, supporting field personnel, improving quality, and ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Lead & Support Field Teams : Supervise all construction field employees by providing direction, training, and clear communication of company policies, procedures, and objectives. This includes hiring, performance management, and progressive discipline as needed.

Champion Safety : Administer and enforce the company safety program, perform safety audits, and emphasize a culture of safety and accountability across all crews.

Plan & Prioritize Work : Direct elevator installation activities, plan manpower needs, and manage scheduling through project management software and other tools to optimize efficiency and productivity.

Ensure Profitability : Review job performance and accounting reports to identify risks and opportunities, reporting fade issues prior to revenue recognition.

Manage Subcontractors : Oversee subcontractor schedules, quality, and performance on turn-key projects, ensuring all deliverables meet expectations.

Build Relationships : Develop and maintain strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, consultants, and architects to ensure smooth project execution and repeat business.

Handle Project Documentation & Approvals : Review and sign off on change orders, purchase orders, turnover authorizations, accounts receivable items, write-offs, credits, and other necessary approvals.

Stay Current & Compliant : Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements. Attend company training sessions, utilize SOP documentation, and stay informed on equipment and supplier updates.

Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with corporate departments, including factory coordination, labor, and regional operations, to ensure alignment on schedules, materials, and production standards.

Resolve Issues : Mediate and resolve both internal and external challenges, including field or union-related concerns. Foster strong communication and positive labor relations.

Manage Materials & Resources : Determine and coordinate all materials, tools, and subcontracting needs to ensure timely job completion.

Field Presence : Conduct weekly crew visits and first-day site reviews to monitor safety, project progress, and customer satisfaction — documenting findings and following up as necessary.

What You Bring to the Team

2+ years of management experience in a field service or construction environment, or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on leadership experience

Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and diagrams

Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to both teams and management

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities

Confidence working independently and making decisions in fast‑paced environments

Location Columbus

– Local travel required to client sites and projects
