Qualifications
Valid New Jersey Principal or Supervisor certification.
Experience s both a classroom teacher and athletic coach.
Responsibilities
Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all NJSIAA interscholastic sporting events for the High School.
Assigns officials, trainers, physicians, site managers and auxiliary personnel as required, and assumes responsibility for the proper supervision of home games for the High School athletic teams.
Arranges transportation for athletic contest participants from the High School.
Implements the code of conduct for athletics at the High School.
Verifies each athlete's eligibility according to established physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participation in each sport for the High School.
Prepares and administers the athletic program budget in cooperation with the High School Principal.
Requisitions program supplies and equipment for the High School.
Organizes and runs seasonal coaches meetings.
Provides for the needs of visiting teams relative to field assistance, changing facilities and security at the High School.
Assumes responsibility for proper handling of funds for the High School athletic teams.
Makes arrangements for and schedules use of playing fields and facilities for the High School athletic teams.
Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to the High School athletic program.
Represents the Morris School District at all conference, county and state meetings and other sport specific Athletic Directors meetings.
Manages, schedules and evaluates the High School Athletic Trainer/Equipment Manager. Oversees the inventory of athletic supplies and equipment for the High School.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Morristown High School Principal and/or the Superintendent.
Position requires New Jersey Principal or Supervisor Certification.
Salary & Benefits Daily rate is commensurate with experience. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, prescription, and dental benefits. Sick, personal and bereavement day allotments are included.
