Job Description
Associate Director, Tempe Site Controller
will provide financial leadership, business expertise, guidance, and support to the functional leaders in the Tempe Manufacturing Site. The position executes a full range of controllership responsibilities including financial controls, reporting, planning, and financial analysis. The role seeks cost‑saving opportunities, helps manage the organization in achieving optimum financial performance, and leads direct reports. The role is part of AbbVie’s Operations Finance group and requires a creative individual who can grasp and implement concepts with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Provide sound financial analysis and cost estimates/scenario planning for functional decision making.
Coordinate, consolidate, and manage the development and reporting of Actuals, Plan, Latest Best Estimate (LBE) and Long‑Range Plan (LRP) including capital, expense, and headcount.
Lead the annual standards‑setting process, driving cross‑functional alignment among the Plant Operations team, PDS&T, Supply Planning, Purchasing, and Operations Product teams.
Provide financial leadership to achieve strategic and day‑to‑day business objectives, and guide and develop financial support staff.
Establish new product costs and provide financial support for key contract negotiations or strategic initiatives.
Provide financial guidance related to Operating Budgets and Strategic Business Issues; present clear, concise financial data to enhance management decision making; partner with Operations to develop budgets for Strategic Programs.
Ensure adequate financial and system controls are established and maintained in accordance with AbbVie Corporate Financial Manual (CFM) policies and generally accepted accounting principles; maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts and document internal control procedures.
Ensure compliance with all Operations Finance deadlines, protect company assets, approve supplier expenditures per policy, report operating results to management, monitor journal entries and balance‑sheet reconciliations, and coordinate successful completion of all financial audits (SOX, External, Internal, PBM).
Play a critical role in integrating the Tempe Manufacturing site into AbbVie’s network and establishing processes in line with AbbVie standards and practices.
Qualifications
BA/BS required; discipline in Accounting or Finance preferred.
8+ years relevant finance experience, with cost accounting experience preferred.
3+ years supervisory experience.
Comfortable presenting to large audiences and all levels of management.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP.
CPA/MBA preferred.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
