Position Overview
The incumbent is responsible for the leadership, direction, and supervision of the daily operations of the Fabric Engineering Unit with responsibility for CALCTRA civil service and incarcerated individuals. This position is located at Mule Creek State Prison (MCSP) and physically reports to MCSP. The incumbent must adhere to policies and procedures of working on California Department of Correction and Rehabilitation (CDCR) grounds. Employees will have regular and substantial contact with persons incarcerated in California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institution and/or medical facilities.
The position is limited term and has the potential to be extended up to 24 months and may become permanent.

Desirable Qualifications
Supervisory Experience
Experience, knowledge and ability to train on patternmaking, grading, and proper sewing techniques.
Experience working in an institutional/correctional setting.
Computer experience: Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Gerber/Lectra, manufacturing systems (Sage X3), etc.
Production and inventory management experience.
Experience, knowledge and ability to create and maintain technical packs and markers.
Manufacturing experience from fabrics raw material to finished good and ability to read instructions or plans to manufacture product.
