Duties

Serves as a Recreation Specialist within the Recreation Program Team involved with planning, organizing, and conducting facility recreation programs for the community. Organizes, plans, and evaluates community programs that reflect community interests. Works in executing community-wide recreation events, programs and services to meet the diversified needs of the community, including a variety multi disciplinary events. Develops and plans publicity using installation media. Recommends items if supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions. Assists with training new personnel. Assures that proper security measures are taken to safeguard monies, property, equipment and facility. Assists with other recreation programs in the Recreation Center as needed. Requirements

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required. Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. A one-year probationary period may be required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2. Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation. Ability to work an irregular schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and split-shifts. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Qualifications

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups. Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience. This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
