Pre-Authorization Representative FT

Job Summary
Under general supervision, contacts insurance companies to obtain pre authorization for various testing and/or therapy. Obtains necessary personal and medical information from physician office on the patient for use in authorization. Performs computer data entry and other record keeping tasks related to authorization of patients' treatment.

Shift: Evenings
Hours: Monday to Friday, 11:30am - 7:30pm. Occasional weekends.
Job Essentials
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to function independently
Clerical, data entry and typing skills including filing and record keeping
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Flexible and able to pay close attention to details
Ability to complete needed tasks with speed and accuracy
One or more years of related insurance experience in a health care facility or physician office preferred
Education Requirements
Completion of high school or equivalent education or minimum 5 years' experience in related field.
