
Valuation Analyst

Job Description / Responsibilities
Develop and review financial models used to assess and support the valuation of financial assets and investments. This includes validating internally prepared analyses as well as reviewing external valuation materials.
Apply consistent valuation standards and processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of analysis and reporting across internal teams.
Utilize established financial modeling techniques such as discounted cash flow analysis, comparable company analysis, and transaction benchmarking to estimate asset values.
Prepare analytical reports, performance reviews, variance analyses, KPI tracking tools, and presentation materials for senior leadership.
Evaluate both quantitative and qualitative inputs used in valuation analyses, including historical performance, projected financial results, transaction structures, market conditions, and industry developments. Communicate findings and implications clearly to stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as accounting, operations, and risk or finance groups to address valuation-related questions and support internal reviews.
Monitor performance and developments related to select portfolio assets or investments, including participating in stakeholder discussions and reviewing updates that may affect valuation assumptions.
Coordinate with internal teams to maintain alignment between valuation analyses and accounting or reporting requirements.
Maintain internal databases, tracking tools, and documentation related to asset valuations and portfolio performance.
Organize reporting materials and coordinate information sharing with internal stakeholders, highlighting trends, key drivers, and performance insights.
Provide expertise on valuation practices in connection with internal reviews, new initiatives, and evolving market standards.
Identify opportunities to improve valuation processes while ensuring compliance with applicable financial reporting guidance and established industry practices.
Serve as a point of contact for external reviewers such as auditors or independent valuation providers, addressing inquiries and supporting review processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
Approximately 3+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, valuation, or a related analytical role.
Demonstrated experience applying common valuation methodologies such as discounted cash flow analysis, comparable company analysis, and transaction benchmarking.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present clear conclusions or recommendations.
Solid project management capabilities and familiarity with internal review and control processes.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and organizational levels.
Self-driven individual capable of working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail, resourcefulness, and the ability to balance independent problem solving with team collaboration.
Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation software.
