Gas Regulation Station Designer
Westinghouse Electric Company, Norwell, MA, United States
About the role:
We are looking for a Gas Regulation Station Designer to support small gas regulation and regulator station projects based in Denver, CO. You will focus on end‑to‑end design ownership for smaller assets (not large facilities such as compressor stations), from Issued for Review (IFR) through As‑Built documentation.
You will conduct site visits, create designs and 3D models, and develop complete drawing packages for each project phase. Using tools such as CADWorx, you'll translate project requirements and field conditions into accurate fabrication drawings, bills of materials, and final as‑built documentation. You'll work with engineers, project managers, and operations teams to ensure correct classifications, constructability, and accurate representation of the field.
You will blend office‑based drafting with real‑world field exposure and require both technical accuracy and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce IFR, IFC, and As‑Built drawings for gas regulator and regulation station projects
Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software (CADWorx preferred) and translate them into fabrication and construction drawings
Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), pipe specifications, and schedules
Revise drawings based on engineering input, field feedback, and design changes
Manage document control, drawing revisions, and formal transmittals
Collaborate directly with engineers, project managers, and operations staff to resolve questions and confirm design intent
Conduct site visits to gas facilities to validate field conditions (typically full‑day trips to locations such as Grand Junction or Alamosa)
Apply engineering concepts and drafting standards to ensure designs are safe, accurate, and buildable
Qualifications:
Draft and design experience
Proficiency with CADWorx (preferred) or comparable drafting tools
Interpret drawings and translate them into real‑world field applications
Understanding of pipe specifications and bills of materials (BOMs)
1+ years of experience with document control and revision management
