Business Continuity Senior Advisor
Become a Business Continuity Senior Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and help build a better tomorrow by advancing enterprise preparedness and recovery. In this role you’ll lead integrated business continuity planning, assessments, and exercises that align organizational units, technology, and operations to a scalable, resilient continuity program.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and project‑manage cross‑functional resiliency initiatives spanning business continuity planning, vendor resiliency, continuity assessments, and gap remediation efforts.
Guide the development, maintenance, and quality assurance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), and recovery strategies aligned to enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.
Serve as a strategic connector between Business Resiliency, Organizational Units, IT/OT, and operational partners to assess risk, maturity, and interdependencies impacting continuity and recovery.
Design, coordinate, and support tabletop, functional, and discussion‑based exercises to validate continuity plans, response capabilities, and technology resilience.
Integrate and mature enterprise business continuity frameworks, tools, and methodologies through multi‑team coordination and execution oversight.
Support governance, compliance, and reporting requirements for Business Resiliency programs, ensuring consistency and audit readiness.
Identify areas to mature the program to increase the company’s resilience capabilities, assisting business functions in identifying and remediating gaps.
Provide continuity and preparedness support during real‑world incidents, including potential activation in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as part of the Incident Management Team (IMT).
Execute risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential business interruptions.
Support business resiliency incident management activities within crisis management processes and monitor lessons learned.
Drive projects related to crisis management, ensuring effective execution and desired outcomes.
Conduct analysis of business functions and key services, mapping critical dependencies and potential vulnerabilities.
Monitor events/incidents related to operational resilience, including near misses, and facilitate escalation, remediation, and coordination of the company’s response as required.
Implement, manage, and maintain resiliency program infrastructure, including tools, notification systems, documentation, and management reporting.
Design and facilitate meaningful plan exercises, analyze outcomes, and identify trends, weaknesses, gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve plans and strengthen resiliency.
Ensure protection of physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, including private customer data, proprietary information, and other highly sensitive data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Ten or more years of experience in business resiliency, emergency management, or utility operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP), or similar certification.
Active membership and engagement in professional business continuity, resilience, or emergency management associations.
Proven experience developing, maintaining, and executing Business Continuity Plans, Business Impact Analyses, and recovery strategies across complex organizations.
Experience designing and facilitating continuity exercises and translating lessons learned into actionable improvements.
Experience supporting enterprise‑wide continuity or resiliency programs in a regulated or critical‑infrastructure environment.
Experience conducting maturity assessments, benchmarking, and long‑term resilience assessments.
Experience integrating business continuity and disaster recovery into large‑scale exercises or special initiatives.
Demonstrated experience with Fusion or other similar business continuity software.
Familiarity with recognized continuity and resilience frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST).
Additional Information
This position’s work mode is hybrid.
Employees will be required to report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.
Employees must work and reside in the state of California.

The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, CA.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position.

Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un‑escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
During real‑world incidents this position will be called upon to support the IMT in the Emergency Operations Center virtually or in person.
