Become a Labor Relations Advisor at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the consistent application of labor policies, procedures, and contractual agreements. The Labor Relations Advisor handles work environment investigations specific to represented employees from the initial investigation through the grievance process, including any alternative dispute resolutions. In collaboration with Legal counsel, the Advisor works to resolve matters prior to arbitration or provides strategic support in arbitration.

Additionally, you’ll provide coaching and guidance to leaders and work with Union representatives in a collaborative interest‑based model to resolve issues at the lowest possible level. The Advisor analyzes complex cases and provides recommendations. Responsibilities also include work environment reviews, conflict resolution, training on the corrective action process, and extensive Labor Relations research using internal and external resources.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing labor relations strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.

Mediated conflicts between management and employees, maintaining a harmonious workplace.

Handled complex or escalated investigations related to interpersonal conduct and policy violations.

Analyzed collective bargaining agreements and provided recommendations for change.

Ensured employee relations practices were consistent, fair, and aligned with company values across all locations.

Assigned labor relations matters and balanced workload to support the business effectively.

Leveraged industry trends and internal metrics to anticipate and prepare for potential employee relations problems, escalating issues to management promptly.

At the direction of the Law Department or Ethics, conducted thorough investigations into employee relations matters, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, and policy violations.

Protected all Company assets, including physical, financial, cybersecurity, and private customer data, maintaining highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

Seven or more years of experience in human resources within a unionized environment.

Experience analyzing and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with National Labor Relations Act compliance.

Experience conducting effective investigations, negotiations, and conflict management.

Ability to conduct sound analysis of organizational work environment, law, regulations, and other factors to make appropriate recommendations.

Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Industrial Relations preferred.

Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP preferred.

Additional Information

This position is hybrid; employees will report to an SCE facility set days with the option to work remotely on remaining days, required to work and reside in California.
