
Vehicle Condition Inspector

Who we are looking for: ACV Auctions seeks an enthusiastic Inspector with strong car knowledge and a passion for customer service. Inspectors are the face of our company; they explain vehicle conditions to clients and ensure accurate inspections.
What you will do:
Support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
Inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off‑lease sites to detect damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems.
Prepare and submit detailed reports of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.
Help sales team up‑sell or cross‑sell services and products.
Interface with dealers to build strong relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
Travel to and from dealerships and homes for inspections and to write condition reports.
Take comprehensive photos of vehicles, matching them to vehicle records and uploading them to the image server via company smartphone.
List inspected wholesale vehicles on the ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.
Sign up independent dealerships as buyers on the digital platform.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you will need:
At least 1 year of experience in the automobile field (body, paint, and mechanical repair) with customer service background.
Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
Capability to work outdoors in varying elements for extended periods.
Problem‑solving aptitude and resourcefulness.
Experience working independently with minimal supervision while collaborating in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills to understand customer needs.
Valid driver’s license and registered, insured vehicle.
Knowledge of relevant software packages and web‑based applications.
Physical ability to perform manual labor: standing long periods, lifting at least 25 lbs, bending, and squatting.
Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
Vision required to identify small defects.
