Position Summary
Alta Vista School is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic professional to play a key role in executing a welcoming, efficient, and forward-thinking admissions experience. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment, this individual will be an essential member of a dynamic, high-performing team dedicated to engaging, informing, and guiding prospective families through every stage of the admissions and enrollment process. The ideal candidate is collaborative and solutions-driven, demonstrates a strong commitment to the school’s mission, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and poise.
Serve as a key member of the admissions team, ensuring seamless collaboration, operational excellence, and a positive team culture.
Execute admissions practices to attract and enroll mission-aligned families, communicating the distinctive value of the school in nuanced, compelling, and consistent ways.
Guide prospective families through the full admissions cycle — from inquiry through enrollment — ensuring a personalized, responsive, and welcoming experience.
Conduct admissions interviews, lead campus tours, evaluate applicant files holistically, and contribute thoughtfully to admissions decision‑making; candidates new to admissions work may assume increased responsibility in committee leadership and file oversight.
Plan, coordinate, and execute admissions events including open houses, playgroups, assessments, shadow days, school fairs, and spring tours.
Oversee applicant screenings and shadow day visits to ensure a smooth and thoughtful experience for prospective students and families.
Manage applicant data systems and support the identification of mission‑fit candidates.
Ability to develop and maintain print and digital marketing materials, website content, social media, email campaigns, newsletters, and event invitations.
Build and sustain strong, trust‑based relationships with peer schools, community partners, and internal stakeholders through proactive outreach and professional collaboration.
Maintain consistent, timely, and personalized communication with prospective and current families throughout the admissions process.
Manage the Student Ambassador and Parent Volunteer programs to enhance the admissions experience.
Qualifications
Possesses 3+ years of professional experience in admissions or education‑related roles.
Effective in collaborative and self‑directed work environments.
Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and the ability to quickly learn, adapt, and optimize new admissions and school software platforms.
Brings a strong facility with data and comfort working with numbers.
Communicates effectively through strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Manages multiple priorities and complex tasks with precision, discretion, and strong organizational and technological acumen.
Shows initiative, sound judgement, is resourceful, and adaptable.
Maintains a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Maintains strict confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions and communications.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Ability to lift or carry up to 20 lbs. regularly
Movement between campuses as needed
Moderate to high noise levels during school hours
Ability to work productively in a shared office environment
Requires physical presence, work to be performed on campus
Compensation $85,000 – $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and level of responsibility.
