About the Role A well-established 110-bed hospital is seeking an experienced
Laboratory Director
to lead and oversee all clinical laboratory operations. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining quality standards, supervising staff, and supporting a full-service hospital laboratory that performs testing across multiple departments and partnered clinics. The lab provides comprehensive services including
chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, molecular, and microbiology testing
and supports ER, ICU, OB, Surgery/Recovery, Skilled Nursing, and Medical Units.
Key Responsibilities Direct daily operations of the hospital clinical laboratory Supervise and support laboratory technologists and phlebotomy staff across shifts Ensure compliance with CAP and other regulatory standards Maintain quality control, proficiency testing, and survey readiness Participate in shared on-call rotation and assist with coverage when needed Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical departments Oversee testing for outpatient services and affiliated regional clinics Ensure staff competency across all laboratory areas
Team Structure Evening Shift: 3–4 Techs, 2 Phlebotomists Night Shift: 1 Tech, 1 Phlebotomist
Qualifications Graduate of a CAHEA-accredited Medical Technology Program or equivalent ASCP Certification required Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology from an accredited institution Minimum 5 years of medical laboratory experience Minimum 2 years of hospital supervisory experience Ability to work across all areas of a hospital laboratory CAP survey experience strongly preferred
Compensation & Benefits Base salary starting at
$40.61/hour
(increases with experience) Relocation bonus up to $2,500
