About the Position AlliedTravelCareers is working with United Health Care Staffing to place a qualified Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Physical Therapist Assistant – Rehab & Long Term Care

Roles & Responsibilities

Implement components of patient care as outlined by the Physical Therapist to advance patient outcomes

Obtain and document data related to treatments provided to ensure accurate clinical records

Assist the Physical Therapist in treating patients across the lifespan, from newborns to end-of-life care

Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and stretching to improve mobility and strength

Teach balance training and safe transfer techniques to reduce fall risk

Move and assist patients from wheelchairs or walkers to the therapy area with safe transfer techniques

Communicate with families to identify practical at-home strategies and reinforce carryover

Keep the therapy area clean, organized, and ready for safe, efficient patient care

Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork accurately

Utilize modalities and equipment (through ACP) as directed by the supervising PT

Qualifications

Active PTA license (Missouri state license required; Compact allowed)

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Minimum 1 year PTA experience – REQUIRED

Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehab – REQUIRED

Ability to provide work history/resume, completed skills checklist (within 1 year), references, license verification, and certifications upon submission

Comfort with administrative tasks and accurate documentation

Willingness to float to Aspen as needed

Knowledge & Skills

Patient transfers and safe handling techniques

Therapeutic exercise prescription and progression

Balance training and fall prevention strategies

Assisting and collaborating with the Physical Therapist

Clinical documentation and charting best practices

Scheduling and administrative coordination

Familiarity with orthopedic and neurological diagnoses

Experience with short‑term rehab and long‑term care populations

Family education and patient/caregiver instruction

Use of modalities and equipment through ACP
