Field Service Representative
This role collaborates with customers, teammates, and third‑party partners to assemble, start‑up, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment from both Schneider Electric and external manufacturers in diverse environments.
Responsibilities
Pre‑site checks, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of equipment.
Problem‑solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams.
Completing field service reports, expense reports, and startup data sheets.
Co‑ordinating with Managers or Regional Service Directors to resolve escalated issues.
Engaging in continuous learning and training on product knowledge in the field and in the classroom.
Traveling throughout the region, locally and, when required, country‑wide with overnight travel.
Assisting senior technicians and supporting Project Management on larger system start‑ups.
Collaborating with larger teams of FSRs and Project Managers on higher‑complexity projects.
Acting on behalf of District Service Managers to resolve operational issues as needed.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, military training, or equivalent electrical‑related experience.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Strong understanding of AC and DC power principles and related components.
Minimum 2 years of field service repair and customer service experience with UPS systems, power distribution, switchgear, ATS, and related equipment.
Minimum 2 years of field service or equivalent industry experience.
Demonstrated adherence to safety practices, company procedures, and required training.
Capability to identify hazards, report incidents, and communicate safety matters.
Preferable NFPA‑70E or OSHA experience.
Safe driving and vehicle operation skills.
Proficiency in using test and diagnostic equipment.
Experience interpreting schematics, drawings, and operating manuals.
Excellent written communication for service reports, correspondence, and procedures.
Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, perform repetitive bends, stoop, and stand for extended periods, including in confined spaces and various environmental extremes.
English language proficiency for customer and team communication.
Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and company digital tools.
