Job Title: Senior SQL Server DBA Location: Chandler, AZ Work Arrangement: Hybrid Client Industry: Banking Duration: 12‑18 months (possible full‑time conversion)

Overview We are seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join a high‑performing team supporting multiple mission‑critical enterprise applications. This high‑impact role focuses on database performance, stability, and modernization initiatives, including large‑scale SQL Server migrations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement complex SQL Server database solutions.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SQL Server environments.

Lead and support SQL Server migrations (2016 → 2022).

Perform advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting (Query Store, indexing, execution plans).

Manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions (Always On, replication, backups).

Support business‑critical applications across multiple enterprise domains.

Handle both production support (BAU) and project‑based initiatives.

Participate in on‑call rotations and provide after‑hours support when needed.

Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams.

Proactively monitor and optimize database performance and reliability.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.

Strong expertise in SQL Server (2012‑2022).

Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting experience.

Hands‑on experience with Always On / High Availability solutions.

Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

Experience with Query Store for performance optimization.

Familiarity with SQL Server tools (SSIS, SSRS, SSDS).

Experience supporting high‑volume, enterprise production environments.

Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Compensation Hourly Rate: $60 - $65 per hour.
