
Junior Estimator

Position Summary:
The Junior Estimator provides essential support to the construction estimating team by calculating prospective project costs, reviewing blueprints, and soliciting vendor quotes. They ensure accurate data collection, aid in preparing bid proposals, and maintain organized records to facilitate competitive bidding and keep projects within budget
Responsibilities & Duties:
Attend pre-bid meetings, team reviews, and estimating discussions
Provide general administrative and analytical support to the estimating team
Assist with reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents for project requirements
Assist with generating RFI's as needed
Support the estimating team in preparing cost estimates and bid proposals
Assist with creating and publishing bid packages utilizing Building Connected
Assist with tracking and follow up on incoming subcontractor proposals to ensure all scope items are included
Organize and maintain bid documents in estimate files
Assist with value engineering research and alternative pricing when applicable
Assist with the preparation of contract exhibits including the Schedule of Values and Exclusions and Clarifications
Assist with generating project/trade specific scopes of work
Qualifications:
Experience with construction projects
Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field of study or equivalent work experience
Prior work in Estimating, Preconstruction or Project Engineering within Multifamily construction
Working knowledge of Excel, MS Office, Project, and Teams
Experience with estimating software/tools such as ProEst, Building Connected, Bluebeam Revu
Experience with task management software such as Asana, Monday.com, Procore
Excellent organizational skills; detailed oriented, ability to problem solve
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Ability to prioritize conflicting demands quickly and appropriately
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand, bend, reach, stoop and lift boxes up to 60 lbs.
Able to coordinate hand-eye movement.
Able to work in a fast paced environment for extended periods of time.
Able to sit at desk, working on computer and phones for a full work day.
Able to work overtime as needed.
Able to walk around and stand for long periods of up to 4 hours at a time.
Ability to use two or more limbs (e.g., two arms, two legs, or one arm and one leg) simultaneously while sitting, standing, or lying
