Requirements:

Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.

A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design / Interior Architecture or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Professional experience at an architecture or interior design firm.

Knowledge of interior design principles and practices is required.

Ability to draft detailed plans and specifications that meet client requirements.

Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Typical Day You will:

Work on‑site, primarily performing Interior Design Program Support. Alternately perform Requirements Development and Construction Representative Services. Expect 2,000 annual hours.

Interior Design Program Support

– tasks are consistent with the 1008 Federal Job Series, including programming, design analysis, space planning, and aesthetics; preparing drawings and documents; coordinating mechanical, electrical, and structural disciplines; managing projects; developing cost estimates; reviewing construction documents; conducting on‑site visits; pre‑ and post‑occupancy evaluations; developing standards for efficient space management.

Requirements Development

– data collection, historical documentation retrieval, physical verification of existing conditions, response to RFIs, BSE specifications, cost estimating using RS Means or similar.

Construction Representative Services

– tasks consistent with the 0809 Federal Job Series: creation of daily logs, safety rounding, project oversight, schedule compliance, submittal reviews, coordination of utility outages, preliminary invoicing review, drafting compliance documentation (ICRA, PCRA), hazard analysis oversight, and site issue troubleshooting.

A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Professional experience at an architecture or interior design firm.

Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

If selected, candidates will need to complete credentialing and onboarding requirements consistent with VA medical staff processes.
