
3D Product Designer

Overview
Location: Dearborn, MI (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Schedule: 40 hours per week (no overtime expected) The 3D Brand / Product Designer is responsible for translating Ford and Lincoln brand identity into high-quality, production-ready vehicle applications. This role focuses on the 3D design of vehicle badging and branded elements across exterior and interior touchpoints. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded industrial or product designer who can quickly assess objectives, lead design solutions, and deliver manufacturable concepts in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and refine 3D design concepts for vehicle badging and branded components
Create detailed 3D models, renderings, sketches, and prototypes
Ensure brand consistency and adherence to Ford and Lincoln design guidelines
Collaborate with Brand Design, engineering, DTO, design shops, and suppliers
Partner with engineering to ensure technical feasibility and manufacturability
Quickly identify design objectives, constraints, and viable solutions
Prepare and present design concepts to internal stakeholders and leadership
Incorporate feedback and document design decisions and processes
Stay current on automotive, product design, and branding trends
3D design concepts and visualizations
Digital and/or physical prototypes
Material, finish, and color specifications
Presentation decks and supporting visuals
Final design documentation and manufacturing specifications
Required Qualifications
Mid-level experience as an Industrial Designer or Product Designer
Experience with VRED for modeling and rendering
Strong hand sketching and ideation skills
Experience designing manufacturable parts in plastic and metal
Ability to manage multiple programs in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Brand design experience and understanding of brand pillars
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite

AutoCAD, CATIA, and 3DX are not required
