Veterinary District Sales Manager – Royal Canin
Location: Toledo, Perrysburg, Ann Arbor, Dearborn Heights, and other Southwest Metropolitan Detroit areas. Field based role – must live within the territory.
The Veterinary District Sales Manager is accountable for executing the Vet Business Unit strategy and achieving business objectives/KPIs by delivering account‑specific sales goals. This is accomplished by identifying clinic opportunities and leveraging sales data. The role works cross‑functionally to grow relevance, access to clinics, and veterinary recommendation within the assigned geography. This is an individual‑contributor role.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree preferred
2+ years of sales experience, preferably B2B
Veterinary clinic experience preferred
Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
Possession of a driver’s license and a clean driving record
Overnight travel required, occasional weekends for conferences; approximately 20‑30%+ travel
What would be your key responsibilities?
Translate knowledge of our products, categories, customer, and clinic data into business opportunities
Develop and execute a territory business plan by understanding clinic operational needs and leveraging it to grow clinics within the assigned geography
Establish and grow relationships with clinic decision‑makers within the assigned geography
Develop and deliver compelling, data‑driven presentations to address the unique needs of veterinary staff
Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholder groups across the BU and organization, balancing the needs and interests of multiple internal and external stakeholders (account teams, digital sales, inside accounts, and scientific affairs)
Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
Effectively execute the Veterinary Business Unit sales strategy
Work in a cross‑functional team‑based environment; adept at working in highly fluid, complex, and ever‑changing environments
Conduct quarterly business reviews with line manager and routinely adjust the strategies, tactics, and investments based on changing needs to maximize territory performance
Manage an expense and sales budget; complete CRM call reports, expense reports, and presentations in a timely and accurate manner
