Experience procuring and contracting goods and services within a specific industry
Proficiency with various computer systems and programs
About the Role The Purchasing Agent is responsible for ensuring the efficiency of purchase orders, maintaining strong vendor relationships, monitoring product demand, and collaborating effectively with customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure purchasing and order processes run smoothly and efficiently
Maintain strong relationships with current vendors and buyers
Communicate product updates, new offerings, and company promotions to vendors
Evaluate sample products, prepare and approve requisitions, and ensure adequate supply levels
Research and identify new vendors; negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery timelines
Partner with sales and marketing teams to assess product performance and recommend adjustments
Monitor product demand and identify opportunities to increase vendor and buyer engagement
Take corrective action when defective or incorrect goods are received
Conduct inventory audits and manage existing property records
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of purchasing processes and company procedures
Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, employees, and leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to present a professional and positive image
Clearance & Requirements
U.S. Citizenship required
Must be able to pass a limited federal background investigation
No supervisory responsibilities associated with this role
