The University of Notre Dame's Office of Annual Giving is a subset of its Development department, responsible for soliciting and stewarding donors at all giving levels across multiple funds and Giving Societies. The Annual Giving team creates strategies and optimizations for new and recurring campaigns, communications, and events - executing in channels including email, web, social media, SMS/text, print, and in-person.
The key metric objectives of Annual Giving are to increase unrestricted giving and total donor count annually-raising funds to support the highest needs and priorities of the University at any given time.
Role Summary The Marketing Intelligence Professional is crucial to the day-to-day operations of Annual Giving, assisting with audience generation, segmentation, and data strategy for the University's multi-channel fundraising campaigns. This role designs and executes data selections for solicitations and stewardship efforts, leveraging performance analytics, automation, and emerging AI-enabled tools to enhance targeting, personalization, and efficiency. The Marketing Intelligence Professional also oversees the auditing, tracking, and acknowledgment processes for Giving Society members.
Through accurate data management and actionable insights, this role drives the effectiveness and continuous optimization of Annual Giving solicitations and stewardship initiatives.
The Marketing Intelligence Professional reports to the Director of Marketing and Operations and works collaboratively with the Senior Data Analyst to advance data-driven strategy and innovation across the team.
Responsibilities
Audience Strategy & Advanced Segmentation: Design and execute data criteria and dynamic segmentation strategies for multi-channel fundraising campaigns. Build and pull communication reports in SAP BusinessObjects to inform campaign audiences and provide data support for ongoing communications and initiatives. Develop reusable segmentation frameworks that improve personalization and campaign ROI over time. Leverage CRM and reporting tools to automate recurring audience builds where possible.
Partner with Senior Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Team to apply predictive models, engagement scoring, and behavioral insights to audience selection.
AI & Data Innovation: Explore and implement AI-assisted tools and processes in collaboration with the Senior Data Analyst to drive efficiencies and innovations in the data space for the Annual Giving team. Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes through workflow automation. Support integration of emerging data tools and processes that enhance personalization and scalability.
Campaign Intelligence & Optimization: Conduct post-campaign analysis to identify trends, lift, performance, and opportunities for optimization. Support test-and-learn experimentation (A/B tests, channel sequencing, timing optimization). Provide recommendations that inform future strategy rather than simply reporting outcomes.
Giving Society Membership Data & Communications: Architect and manage scalable data processes for Giving Society membership tracking and recognition. Ensure data integrity, audit accuracy, and clean coding within the CRM. Identify opportunities to automate acknowledgment workflows and enhance personalization. Own the acknowledgment and stewardship email and mail process and execution for our Giving Society members in-house and with vendor partners on behalf of the Giving Society fund owners.
Work Environment The Marketing Intelligence Professional is required to work in South Bend, Indiana. This is a hybrid position. The role is typically 40 hours/week but will require additional hours during high-volume periods, including but not limited to home Notre Dame Football games, annual Day of Giving (Notre Dame Day), and other engagement events.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
2-3 years of post‑graduate work experience in a related field
Experience managing data flow in an automated fundraising model or a similar high‑volume customer sales and service environment
Understands fundraising methods and practices and key data required to identify, engage, and fundraise with entities
Handles sensitive information ethically, with the utmost integrity
Comfortable working in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets with large data sets
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining high quality
Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines, fulfill commitments/complete assignments, and maintain a high standard of work
Delivers accurate data and information in all aspects of work
Familiarity with AI tools in a data or analytics context, with the ability to apply them to improve efficiency and insight generation
Self‑starter with demonstrated initiative and accountability
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
