Director of Finance & Human Resources
$110,000 – $120,000

A privately owned, growth-oriented organization is looking to bring on a Director of Finance & Human Resources to oversee both financial leadership and people operations. This is a newly established role designed to support the company’s next phase of growth by creating stronger infrastructure, improving visibility into performance, and elevating internal processes.

Reporting directly to ownership, this leader will take full responsibility for the company’s financial function while also guiding HR initiatives. The position is highly interactive and best suited for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, building systems from the ground up, and influencing business decisions in a meaningful way—particularly within a mission-driven organization focused on women’s health.


What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Direct the organization’s financial function, including accounting oversight, reporting, and planning activities
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP standards
  • Lead close cycles, maintain account integrity, and deliver insightful financial analysis
  • Guide budgeting and forecasting processes, offering recommendations to support growth and profitability
  • Establish meaningful metrics and dashboards to help leadership track performance
  • Act as a strategic partner to ownership on financial direction and long-term planning
  • Oversee and develop a small team responsible for transactional accounting functions
  • Manage payroll and serve as the point person for HR operations, including benefits, employee relations, and hiring support
  • Coordinate with external partners such as auditors, tax advisors, and consultants
  • Introduce and refine systems, workflows, and internal controls to support scalability

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles (preferably out of manufacturing industry)
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a team
  • Strong command of GAAP and accrual-based accounting practices
  • Experience with financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Comfortable operating in a hands-on, small/growing business capacity across all areas of accounting
  • Exposure to HR responsibilities such as payroll, benefits, or employee support is a plus
  • CPA is a plus but not required
  • Background in smaller or entrepreneurial environments preferred
  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, and ability to influence decisions
