Aircraft Structural Repair Technician

Position will require the individual to perform structural repairs, modifications, installations, and inspections on aircraft as required. Duties And Responsibilities

Part removal, repair, fabrication and re-installation of aircraft components are accomplished by this position. Advanced corrosion removal and repairs using engineering drawings and blueprints. Maintain work and shop areas to a clean and safe environment. Operate and maintain shop fabrication equipment. Minimal supervision to maintain company and industry standards. Know, understand, follow, promote, and continuously improve company policies and procedures. Observe all safety, environmental, and general housekeeping rules and policies. Construct tooling fixtures, and any special tooling as needed. Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner. Use precision measuring instruments to accomplish sheet metal repairs or modifications, (i.e. micrometers, calipers, protractors, scales, etc.) Perform structural aircraft repairs/modifications using appropriate sheet metal techniques, fastener removal/installation and repair methods. Read and interpret maintenance manuals, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams when required. Set up and use sheet metal equipment such as power brakes, presses, saws, shears and rollers. Use sound judgment and technical aptitude to make basic decisions regarding modifications/repairs and sequence of tasks and procedures. Skills, Competencies, Education, Certification, And/Or Licensure Requirements

FAA Airframe license. FAA Powerplant license (preferred). Read and interpret aircraft blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and manuals. Min 3+ years of heavy structural repair/manufacturing/modifications experience. Demonstrate good problem solving and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must be self-motivated. Must be willing and motivated to learn new skills and equipment. Possession of valid driver's license. Physical Demands

Talk and/or hear regularly throughout the day. Sitting, standing and walking throughout the day. Climb or balance; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed. Lift and/or move tools and equipment up to 50 pounds frequently. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus throughout the day. Work in hangars, flight line, or in a repair shop environment involving confined spaces, hot, noisy, and wet conditions throughout the day. Move and use ladders and/or scaffolds as needed. Use hand and power tools along with test equipment as needed. Must be able to pass drug and background screen. An Equal Opportunity Employer.
