As the Senior Director of Health Information, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for health information systems and practices across skilled nursing and assisted living settings. This role partners closely with clinical leaders, IT, vendors, and operational teams to ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity, system optimization, and staff development. The position reports to the Chief Clinical Officer and supervises health information staff and project teams.
This position is based in Edina, Minnesota. Position Type: Full‑Time, hybrid schedule based in Edina, Minnesota.
Wage Range: $75,000 – $80,000 Annually depending on experience. Location: 7171 Ohms Lane, Edina, MN 55439.
Responsibilities
Lead and optimize EHR systems, interoperability initiatives, analytics, and data governance.
Serve as primary liaison between clinical teams, IT, providers, vendors, and operational leaders.
Oversee health information management (HIM) practices, audits, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure HIPAA privacy compliance, including audits, training, access management, and breach response.
Support ICD‑10‑CM coding accuracy, education, and census reporting.
Monitor CMS and regulatory changes impacting health information workflows.
Provide education and training on EHR use, electronic signatures, analytics, and system access.
Participate in committees, projects, and enterprise initiatives supporting quality and compliance.
Qualifications
LTC ICD‑10 coding certification required.
3–5 years of long‑term care experience required.
Training or education in health informatics required.
Strong proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office (Excel – intermediate or higher).
Deep knowledge of SNF and AL regulations, HIM standards, and HIPAA requirements preferred.
Understanding of RAI/MDS processes, CMS quality measures, and outcomes preferred.
Strong leadership, teaching, change management, and communication skills preferred.
Ability to translate technical concepts into practical guidance for clinical teams preferred.
