Overview
Piper Companies is seeking a
Sr. Trade & Sanctions Compliance Analyst
to support a global organization within the medical device and healthcare technology industry. The
Sr. Trade & Sanctions Compliance Analyst
role is ideal for an experienced trade compliance professional responsible for North American import/export compliance, sanctions screening, and regulatory engagement. The role requires you to sit on site 5 days per week in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities
Support the Sr. Manager, Global Trade Compliance across U.S., Mexico, and Canada operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customs authorities and government agencies during audits and inquiries.
Prepare and submit responses to CF-28s, CF-29s, customs audits, and SAT/CBSA requests.
Conduct internal compliance reviews and implement corrective actions.
Manage USMCA and other Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification processes and documentation.
Administer the ACE portal and audit customs documentation for valuation, HS classification, and country-of-origin determination.
Lead sanctions and export control compliance activities within assigned business units.
Perform daily screening activities in SAP GTS, elevate potential matches, and maintain compliant records.
Develop and deliver trade compliance and sanctions training.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field.
6–10 years of experience in trade compliance, import/export operations, or customs within a multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of Title 15 (Commerce and Foreign Trade) and Title 19 (Customs Duties).
Experience with USMCA compliance, tariff classification, and country-of-origin rules.
Working knowledge of export controls, OFAC, BIS, and global sanctions regimes.
Advanced Excel skills; SAP and/or SAP GTS experience strongly preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Compensation
$140,000 - $190,000 base salary
