
Regional Trade Compliance Officer, Americas

Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee local trade compliance, ensuring adherence to export control, sanctions, and customs regulations, develop and implement policies and procedures, manage risks and audits, provide training and guidance to teams, and lead Local Trade Compliance Officers while ensuring effective use of compliance systems.
The work model for the role is hybrid.
Serve as the main point of contact for local trade authorities and business management, ensuring compliance with export control, sanctions, and customs regulations across all local operations.
Develop, maintain, and implement trade compliance policies, procedures, and standards, including product classification, export license applications, and SAP GTS compliance processes.
Monitor, manage, and mitigate trade compliance risks, conduct local trade reviews and audits, manage permits and authorizations, and report compliance updates to stakeholders.
Implement trade compliance training programs, raise awareness, and provide guidance to local teams and management, maintaining internal resources such as SharePoint and trade handbooks.
Lead and develop Local Trade Compliance Officers (LTCOs), ensure effective use of trade compliance systems, and deliver on budget, targets, and performance objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience with business processes, supply chain, risk management, and logistics.
Strong knowledge of export control, sanctions, and customs rules and regulations, with willingness to develop further expertise.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external authorities.
Experience in training and advising teams on trade compliance topics.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to monitor and mitigate compliance risks.
Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the local language.
Leadership and people development experience, with the ability to guide and motivate Local Trade Compliance Officers (LTCOs).
Willingness to travel as required and learn technical details of products, software, and technologies relevant to the business.
