Director Radiology-Texas Health Dallas Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is one of North Texas's most established hospitals. Location and work environment details: Work location: Texas Health Hospital Dallas, Dallas, TX Core work hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement Ensure an effective process for measuring, assessing, and improving patient outcomes and patient safety based on standards of care, clinical research findings, and applicable benchmarks. Maintain responsibility and accountability for Departmental Key Performance Indicators that articulate the tactical components of the Strategic Plan. Facilitate implementation of patient safety initiatives and strategies and monitor to ensure the provision of safe and effective care. Operations Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to ensure efficient and effective day-to-day functioning in assigned areas and appropriate delegation of responsibility. Establish formal means of accountability within areas of responsibility toward achievement of established objectives and related measurable results. Develop, approve, and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures, standards of care, and practice that provide direction for the delivery of quality, accurate results in a timely manner. Direct activities that support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and requirements. Create processes to disseminate data and information to leadership and staff. Continuously monitor progress toward annual and long-term key performance indicators at hospital and system levels; implement corrective action plans as necessary. Strategic Planning Participate with the Leadership Council in developing and implementing strategic and operating plans, policies, procedures, and decisions that govern hospital-wide services and programs. Participate in and lead the development, implementation, and management of program and business plans as appropriate. Develop and collaborate on implementing the hospital Plan for the Provision of Care. Satisfaction Collaborate with all customer groups to meet and exceed needs and expectations. Evaluate customer satisfaction regularly to identify gaps and take corrective measures as appropriate. Fiscal Management Maintain accountability for the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the operating and capital budget for assigned departments, ensuring high quality and safe patient care, strong patient satisfaction, and strong financial results. Monitor and evaluate budget variances to ensure continuous availability of quality services and take corrective measures as needed. Human Resources Evaluate staffing and qualification requirements for the provision of services. Ensure effective recruitment and retention programs that meet targets. Promote professional growth, development, and accountability in staff, students, and colleagues. Coach and mentor subordinate staff to improve performance and expand responsibilities. Create and support a structure for shared decision making with emphasis on inter/intradepartmental teamwork and team accomplishments. Establish processes and participate in reward and recognition of individual and team accomplishments. Identify and develop leadership talent and skills within Radiology and Imaging Services. Professional Accountability Seek additional knowledge by participating in education programs and activities. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, department/hospital staff, management team, and system peers. Promote a professional image in demeanor, appearance, attitude, and behaviors. Engage in self-performance appraisal, seek feedback, and identify areas for development. Establish, promote, and participate in community activities.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Healthcare or related business field preferred. Experience: 5 years imaging leadership experience required. Licenses and Certifications: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) prior to providing independent patient care; GMRT (General Medical Radiologic Technologist) required upon hire; ARRT or CNMT required upon hire; CRA (Certified Radiology Administrator) AHRA preferred upon hire. Skills: Knowledge of industry standards including organizational management, quality improvement, change management, financial analysis, budgeting, and familiarity with spreadsheets; familiarity with accreditation and regulatory standards; strategic planning principles.
