The evaluation service links on the following site are provided by South Texas College for your convenience but are not affiliated with South Texas College:**Job Description**### **Department:** Public Relations and Marketing### ## **General Statement of Job**## ### The Social Media Technician – Content Creator is responsible for content creation with the college’s social media presence in alignment with social media strategies under the direction### of the Communication and Creative Services department and will be a resource to the Communication team to assist in the day-to-day activities of the department.### ### ## **Specific Duties and Responsibilities**### **Essential Functions:*** ### Assists with collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop marketing and communication plans that leverage the social media space.* ### Assists with developing real-time, organic content to engage customers among our social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Snapchat.* ### Willingness to appear on camera and/or provide voiceover narration.* ### Engage with customers on social media platforms via comments and direct messages.* ### Learn and use Associated Press Style for content writing and other writing assignments as assigned.* ### Performs other duties as assigned.## **Required Education and Experience**### To qualify, one of the following must be met:* ### College Certificate* ### A minimum of 30 earned college hours* ### High School Diploma/GED and one (1) year of directly related experience* ### College student currently pursuing a degree in a related field preferred.* ### Working knowledge of content creation with social media platforms, including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, including but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Snapchat.## **Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** ### Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.* ### Strong background in computers and Microsoft Office with knowledge of working Windows and Mac OS.* ### Knowledge in or willing to learn, Adobe Creative Suite, among other hardware such as video and still photography cameras.* ### Ability to prioritize, organize, and complete multiple tasks with attention to detail, within stated deadlines.* ### Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.* ### Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse multi-cultural college population.* ### Demonstrated commitment to achieving the vision and mission of South Texas College.* ### Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.* ### Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.### ## **Checks, Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations**### Security Sensitive position: all applicants are subject to a criminal background check under South Texas College policy.### ## **Physical Requirements*** ### Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.* ### Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.* ### Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.* ### Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.* ### Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.* ### Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.* ### Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discrimination in sound.* ### Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.* ### Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
