
Childcare Assistant Director

Major Key Job Responsibilities
Assist the Director in planning and supervising programs and activities for Celebration Childcare Center and CrossWays Preschool
Support staff recruitment, supervision, and development
Coordinate and manage daily operations, including curriculum support, scheduling, supplies, and center organization
Maintain compliance with Illinois DCFS regulations, including accurate staff and student records
Oversee administrative tasks such as tuition tracking, calendars, and facility maintenance needs
Provide tours for prospective families and support a consistent enrollment process
Communicate effectively with staff, families, the Parent Advisory Committee, Holy Cross staff, and congregation
Assist in marketing and outreach efforts, including website and social media communication
Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and positivity among staff
Qualifications
A minimum of an associate degree from an accredited college or university in child development or early childhood education; or the equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours or 96 quarter hours in any discipline, with a minimum of 21 semester hours or 31.5 quarter hours from an accredited college or university in courses related to child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education)
Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential
3 semester hours or 4.5 quarter hours of college credit in child care administration, leadership, or management
3 points of credential-approved training in child care administration, leadership, or management
Candidate must be aware of current DCFS Standards and be prepared to meet those standards.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $49,000 – $53,000 annually
