Job Title: Social Media Content Creator & Community Manager
We are looking for a social media expert to join the Kate Spade New York communications team who loves fashion, data and creating content.
Social Media Strategy & Content Creation The Social Media Manager will focus on strategizing, planning and creating content for Kate Spade New York’s social channels, prioritizing TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest. The role also requires proficiency in Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter, ensuring the brand values and voice are reflected across all platforms.
Community Management The Social Media Manager will grow the Kate Spade New York community through the creation and execution of compelling content and engagement around marketing messages that align with company‑wide initiatives.
Responsibilities Planning & Management
Plan, curate and schedule daily posts across all platforms, with a focus on Instagram and TikTok.
Manage day‑to‑day social listening and engage daily with the KSNY online community, tapping into conversations outside of the KSNY-owned platforms to stay culturally relevant to Gen Z.
Create weekly and monthly editorial content calendars aligning with main marketing messages and storytelling initiatives.
Collaborate with PR, Influencer Marketing and the broader marketing team on branding initiatives, establishing and executing strategic social strategies for new launches, events and brand partnerships.
Stay ahead of key industry trends, competitive insights and emerging social & digital platforms, and provide recommendations for new tools, services and vendors.
Work with the Senior Director to manage and track the social media budget for agency fees, publishing and analytics tools.
Content Creation & Curation
Create compelling video content for platforms such as IG Stories, IG Reels, TikToks and Pins.
Align with creative to facilitate social‑specific asset requests in collaboration with the KSNY internal team, content creators and influencers.
Conceptualize and lead the implementation of engaging content programs across social platforms to communicate effectively with our audiences.
Reporting and Analytics
Own weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc social reporting in partnership with our listening platform partner.
Utilize data in future marketing decisions, allowing insights to influence planning.
Analyze benchmarks for measuring performance and impact of social media efforts, determining campaign effectiveness through relevant monitoring tools.
Team Structure, Resources & Support The Social Media Manager reports to the Senior Director of Communications and works in a collaborative team environment with Public Relations, Influencer Marketing, Creative, Marketing, Licensing, Sales, Customer Experience, e‑commerce, Legal and Product Development teams. The role is supported by an in‑house team and a full service social media agency covering strategy, budgeting, content creation, scheduling, publishing, community management and analytics.
Qualifications
Consumer‑obsessed with a passion for building community.
Creative with proven content creation skills; able to develop thumb‑stopping, high‑impact social content.
Agility to respond to constantly evolving consumer demands and industry trends.
Deep understanding of social media analytics and ability to use data and insights to drive strategy and business impact.
Staying current on all social trends relevant to the brand and Gen Z consumers.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
7‑9 years of relevant working experience.
