Overview

Ursuline College Financial Aid Office Assistant Director, State and Federal Grants, Verification and Work Study Administers State Grants, Pell Grant, work study program, all facets of verification, as well as financial aid packaging for returning undergraduate students. Assists in financial aid counseling and awarding services. Reports to Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid. Essential Job Functions

Responsible for managing all facets of verification, keeping up with federal changes. Verifies chosen applicants, makes corrections on the applications, and releases funds when complete. Track and collect missing documentation for student files until verification is complete, including electronic requests for missing information monthly. Responsible for reporting and balancing the State Grant Programs to the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE). Prepares files and works with ODHE on the bi-annual State Grant audit. Manage Federal Work-Study program. Manages and balances the Federal Pell Grant program, (balancing COD, and the Business Office). Determine financial need and package aid entitled to returning students. Perform corrections and verification of applicants as needed during packaging. Revise award packages as needed due to corrections, credit hour change, etc. Maintain/update financial aid forms and web pages as needed. Remain current regarding regulations for financial aid. Work closely with the Admission staff in recruiting incoming students, including meeting, and advising prospective students, and presentations at events. Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures within area of responsibility, and report processing, if necessary. Counsel students and parents about various programs, eligibility criteria, application procedures, verification procedures, debt management, and intended usage of all student assistance funds received. Other duties as assigned. Technical Proficiencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Preferred experience with: PowerFAIDS, Slate, Jenzabar, U.S. Department of Education platforms, including FAFSA Partner Connect, COD, NSLDS, and the FAFSA Partner Portal. Requirements

Knowledge of federal regulations governing Title IV and State aid. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to effectively prioritize multiple tasks. Exceptional organizational skills and adaptability to evolving federal regulations are essential. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required, two years financial aid experience. Must be able to work independently. Orientation to detail and strong communication skills.
