
Director - Interconnection - Hybrid

TheDirectorof Interconnection will leadElevate’sinterconnection strategy and execution across its portfolio of battery energy storage and generation assets in key U.S. ISO markets (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO). This role is accountable for securing andoptimizinginterconnection positions, managing queue strategy, and navigating complex ISO/RTO processes to enable successful project development.
This role functions as the strategic owner ofElevate’sinterconnection portfolio—driving siteselection, advancing projects through the interconnection lifecycle, and mitigating cost and schedule risk. The Senior Director will work in close partnership with Development leadership to ensure interconnection strategy is fully integrated into origination, siting, and portfolio construction.
Key Responsibilities
Own interconnection strategy across target markets (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO). Identifyand prioritize high-value points of interconnection (POIs) based on capacity, cost, and deliverability Evaluate congestion, curtailment risk, and transmission constraints to inform siting and portfolio strategy. Provide interconnection input for greenfield development and M&A opportunities. Lead all interconnection applications, submissions, and advancement through ISO/RTO cluster processes. Manage projects through feasibility, system impact, and facilities studies. Interpret and challenge ISO study results toidentifyrisks, cost drivers, and optimization opportunities. Develop mitigation strategies to reduce upgrade costs and improve project economics. Track and manage milestones, deposits, and deliverables across the interconnection lifecycle. Transmission Analysis & Technical Leadership Oversee transmission and power flow analysis to support development strategy and project diligence. Guide internal and external teams on modeling assumptions, study inputs, and scenario analysis. Evaluate transmission upgrade requirements, cost allocation, and system impacts. Support replication or validation of ISO study results whereappropriate. Engage and managethird-party consultants as needed. Regulatory & Stakeholder Engagement Represent Elevate in ISO/RTO stakeholder processes, working groups, and industry forums. Monitor and influence interconnection rule changes, queue reforms, and transmission planning developments. Build andmaintainrelationships with ISOs, utilities, and external partners. Ensure alignment with applicable tariffs, procedures, and regulatory frameworks. Cross Functional Collaboration, Leadership & Platform Development Partner closely with Development to integrate interconnection strategy into project origination, siting, and pipeline prioritization. Collaborate with Engineering on design considerations tied to interconnection requirements. Support Commercial and Finance teams with cost estimates, risk assessments, and investment decisions. Provide inputs for project valuation, underwriting, and financing processes. Build and lead a high-performing interconnection and transmission team. Establish standardized processes, tools, and reporting for interconnection management. Manage external consultants and engineering firms supporting interconnection activities. Develop internal capabilities for transmission analytics and queue strategy. Requirements:
10–15+ years of experience in power markets, transmission planning, or generation interconnection. Deep expertise in ISO/RTO interconnection processes (PJM, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO). Proven track record managing interconnection queues and advancing projects through cluster studies. Strong understanding of:
Transmission planning and power flow analysis Interconnection agreements and tariff structures Upgrade cost allocation methodologies Congestion and basis risk
Experience interpreting ISO study results and identifying optimization opportunities. Experience working with utilities, ISOs, and external consultants. Experience with tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, or similar modeling platforms. Demonstrated ability to influence development strategy and drive outcomes in cross-functional environments. Strong leadership experience, including building or managing high-performing teams. Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineeringor related field (master’spreferred). Why Join Us?

The base compensation range for this role is $220,000 to $250,000 per year, whichrepresentsthe Company’s good-faith estimate of the salary range for this position at the time of posting. Employees in this role are also eligible toparticipatein the Company’s annual discretionary bonus program, subject to the terms of the applicable plan.
