Job Description
The Communications Specialist serves as a strategic Communications advisor and hands‑on executor, with a primary focus on driving impactful Internal Communications and fostering positive community engagement at Airbus sites. This role is essential for maintaining an informed internal workforce and building strong, sustainable relationships with local communities.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies, campaigns, and plans that align with company objectives and culture.

Manage planning, coordination, and execution of site‑wide internal events, town halls, employee briefings, and celebratory activities to boost morale and business objectives.

Oversee internal communication channels (e.g., HUB, newsletters, digital screens) ensuring content is timely, relevant, and engaging.

Act as a trusted content advisor to internal stakeholders and departments, helping craft clear, consistent, and compelling messages.

Create, write, edit, and curate high‑quality internal content (articles, news stories, executive messages, presentations, communication toolkits).

Ensure the consistent application of Airbus brand identity, tone, and messaging within internal communications and local community interactions.

Develop communication materials that reinforce the company's values, mission, and strategic priorities to the internal audience.

Execute and coordinate Community Engagement events to enhance Airbus’s reputation within local operating communities.

Manage proactive outreach programs fostering strong relationships with key community leaders, organizations, and residents.

Manage site sponsorships and donations programs aligned with CSR guidelines and local site priorities.

Lead communication planning and execution for high‑profile site visits involving government officials, corporate executives, etc.

Establish and manage necessary protocol and communication materials for successful visits, working closely with security, facilities, and executive support teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or related field required.

Experience

5+ years experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or public relations.

Preferred: Experience in aerospace or manufacturing industry; previous experience supporting C‑suite executives.

Travel Required

25% domestic and international.

Citizenship

Authorized to work in the US.

Knowledge, Skills, and Demonstrated Capabilities

Required:

Exceptional storytelling, writing, and editing skills; expertise in event management and internal engagement strategies; ability to manage multiple high‑priority projects simultaneously.

Technical systems proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Slides), CMS platforms (HUB), and digital newsletter tools.

Preferred:

Knowledge of CSR frameworks and community relations management.

Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign/Photoshop) and social media management tools.

Communication Skills

Required: Mastery of written and spoken English; ability to influence senior stakeholders; executive‑level presentation skills; excellent public communication and influencing skills.

Preferred: Proficiency in French, German, or Spanish.
