Court: Deputy Court Clerk

Description

This position performs a variety of clerical duties related to civil, criminal, traffic and probation cases. Primary responsibilities will include general civil/landlord-tenant/small claims case processing, answering phones, aiding the public and law enforcement, entering data on the court case management system (Quad-Tran), jury responsibilities, generating and distributing court related notices/paperwork, processing incoming mail, filing and maintaining records. Additional responsibilities may include use of Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) and Secretary of State (SOS).

Education:

The applicant must possess a high school education and have completed some additional coursework in law, criminal justice, business administration, or related field.

Experience:

Knowledge of court procedures including in-depth familiarity with court structures and functions. Two (2) years of experience in a court or law office providing knowledge of the processing of district court cases preferred.

Requirements

Must have strong technical skills and adaptability to various computer programs, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word. Ability to understand and follow complicated, legal oral and written instructions, establish priorities in a rapidly changing work environment, and work independently. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees and interact effectively with the public. Successful candidate must pass an extensive pre-employment screening process and obtain a Certified Electronic Operator (CEO) certification within one (1) year of hire date.
