Director of Quality Assurance & Staff Development
Full-Time | Exempt | Leadership Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Quality Assurance & Staff Development to lead the facility’s Quality Assessment and Assurance (QAA/QAPI) program and oversee staff education and development. This role is critical to regulatory compliance, survey readiness, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across all departments.
This position is ideal for a healthcare leader who is analytical, organized, and committed to building strong systems and well-trained teams.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, and direct the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program
- Chair and lead the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee
- Track, analyze, and trend quality indicators, audits, incidents, and outcomes
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for identified deficiencies
- Support survey readiness, surveys, and plans of correction
- Coordinate and oversee staff education, orientation, and ongoing in-service training
- Maintain training records and compliance documentation
- Partner with leadership to identify risk areas and improvement opportunities
- Assist with policy review, regulatory updates, and compliance monitoring
- Participate in facility surveys, audits, and inspections
- Prepare and present written and verbal quality reports to Administration
Qualifications
- Licensed RN preferred or equivalent healthcare leadership experience
- Prior quality assurance, staff development, or regulatory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey processes
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to lead committees, training programs, and performance improvement initiatives
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Office and facility-based work
- Standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility as needed
- Exposure to clinical environments and healthcare settings
