Ultimate Europe based in St. Georgen am Ybbsfelde (Lower Austria), is part of a very successful international group of companies with additional locations in Romania, Poland, Turkey, the USA, China and Australia. We are engaged in the development, sale and service of gangways, automatic door systems and interior fittings for rail vehicles and buses. We are looking for a Director Supply Chain & Operation for our location in St. Georgen am Ybbsfelde to strengthen and expand our international market activities.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for Supply Chain and Operations
    Functional and disciplinary leadership of the departments Production, Logistics & Procurement, Customer Service as well as Quality and Industrial Engineering

  • Management of operational performance
    Ensuring on‑time delivery, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency in close alignment with all international sites

  • Establishment of a performance management system
    Implementation of a transparent KPI system and a clearly structured communication framework to manage operational performance

  • Optimization of Industrial Engineering
    Establishing end‑to‑end process standards, reliable standard times, and flow‑ and takt‑optimized production systems, including logistics and warehouse structures as well as ERP master data as the foundation for efficient and scalable processes

  • Lean transformation & operational excellence
    Introduction and scaling of an integrated lean system and development of a sustainable continuous improvement organization

  • Strategy and transformation
    Development and execution of strategic initiatives in close coordination with executive management
    (lean transformation, digitalization, ERP rollout, localization of the supply chain across subsidiaries)

  • Responsibility for investment planning as well as active management and sustainable reduction of manufacturing costs at the site, including subsidiaries

  • End‑to‑end optimization of the value chain
    Analysis and continuous development of organizational structures, processes and workforce
    Ensuring a robust, resilient and synchronized supply chain from planning through procurement to delivery

Profile

  • Completed degree in business administration and engineering (FH, university)
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in an international environment
  • Experience in coordinating global supply chains , preferably in the rail vehicle industry
  • Solid expertise in:
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Lean production and logistics
    • Quality management (ISO 9001, IRIS ISO/TS 22163)
    • Supply Chain Management
    • High‑mix, low‑volume, customer‑specific production environment
  • Business fluent in English (additional languages such as Chinese are an advantage)
  • Strong intercultural competence and willingness to travel
  • Distinct strategic, structured and results‑oriented mindset
  • Strong negotiation skills and assertiveness
  • Proactive working style
