A fast-growing payments technology company transforming how businesses move money are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director of Business Development to drive growth through partnerships and new revenue opportunities.
Role Overview
The Director of Business Development will lead the identification, development, and execution of strategic partnerships that accelerate revenue growth and market expansion. This role requires a strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to structure and close complex deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company growth objectives
- Identify, evaluate, and secure high-impact partnerships across fintech, banking, PSPs, enterprise, and platform ecosystems
- Own the full partnership lifecycle: sourcing, negotiation, contracting, launch, and ongoing relationship management
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Legal, and Marketing teams to bring partnerships to market
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities within the payments space
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of strategic opportunities
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings
- Track, measure, and report on partnership performance and revenue impact
Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic sales within payments, fintech, or financial services
- Proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals
- Strong understanding of payment infrastructure (e.g., card networks, ACH, real-time payments, embedded finance)
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
