Manufacturing AI & IoT Strategy Director

This is a top-level leadership opportunity within the CTO EMEA organization, acting as an Account CTO for key manufacturing and pharmaceutical clients, driving large-scale digital transformation programs.

The role combines technology strategy, consulting leadership, and business growth responsibility. You will operate beyond single opportunities, shaping long-term transformation roadmaps and expanding strategic accounts through innovation, value realization, and trusted client relationships.

IF YOU ARE

• A technology leader with 10+ years of experience in software engineering and consulting, with strong exposure to emerging technologies, Digital Twins, robotics, IoT and AI driven product and solution development.
• Experienced (5+ years) working with or for manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical enterprises, understanding their operational and digital transformation challenges.
• A consulting-oriented professional with a track record in client advisory, stakeholder management, and business development within strategic accounts.
• Proven in leading complex, cross-functional digital programs from early-stage innovation and PoCs to large-scale implementations.
• Familiar with Digital Twin, Computer Vision, AI/ML, and IoT technologies, and able to identify where they create real business value.
• Strong in engaging senior stakeholders (CDO, CIO, CTO) while also collaborating effectively with engineering and operations teams.
• Experienced in defining and governing scalable, cloud-native architectures (e.g., Azure or AWS), including edge/OT integration.
• Able to translate technology into business outcomes, clearly articulating ROI and value propositions.
• Capable of driving technical excellence, including architecture governance, quality assurance, and scalability across programs.
• Fluent in German and English, with the ability to operate effectively in customer-facing environments.

AND YOU WANT TO

• Act as an Account CTO, defining and executing technology strategy and digital transformation roadmaps for key clients in manufacturing and pharma.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships across business and IT, acting as a strategic advisor and long-term partner.
• Work closely with sales, client-success and delivery organizations to identify and develop new opportunities, moving SoftServe up the value chain within strategic accounts.
• Initiate and drive innovation topics such as Digital Twins, AI-driven insights, and real-time data platforms, translating them into tangible business value.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, business-oriented way, supporting executive decision-making.
• Orchestrate and mentor cross-functional teams of Principal- and Solution Architects, ensuring alignment across multiple programs and workstreams.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, scalability requirements, and best practices.
• Keep up-to-date with the technological development and new products appearing on the market, which could accelerate the customer’s digital transformation journey. Proactively come up with the ideas for R&D and PoC projects to prove value from those emerging products and technologies.
