Role Summary
The Portfolio Intelligence Director oversees complex, multi-program transformation portfolios by combining executive leadership with AI-driven delivery intelligence. This role is responsible for increasing enterprise-level execution certainty by illuminating systemic risks, accelerating executive decision-making, and elevating program leadership across the portfolio.
This is not a reporting aggregation role. It is a strategic orchestration role focused on foresight, clarity, and control at scale. AI is embedded as a decision-augmentation engine, enabling the Director to move from reactive oversight to predictive portfolio leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive-level oversight across multiple transformation initiatives
- Identify systemic risks, cross-program dependencies, and delivery drift patterns
- Translate portfolio signals into clear trade-offs and strategic recommendations
- Accelerate executive decision cycles through insight-driven governance
- Coach and elevate Program Intelligence Leads to operate with clarity and courage
- Shape expansion of the Intelligent Program Office model across the enterprise
AI & Intelligence Fluency (Core Requirement)
The Portfolio Intelligence Director must demonstrate advanced, hands‑on fluency with AI‑enabled tools and agentic workflows, including:
- Sophisticated use of ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and other enterprise AI platforms for portfolio synthesis and scenario modeling
- Designing structured prompts to generate executive‑ready portfolio insights
- Stress‑testing mitigation strategies using AI‑assisted analysis
- Working with or conceptualizing AI agents that monitor risk signals, milestone drift, and cross‑program dependencies
- Ensuring responsible, human‑in‑the‑loop AI governance in regulated environments
This role requires strategic AI orchestration capability — not passive tool usage.
Experience & Qualifications
- 2–5 years leading large‑scale enterprise transformation portfolios
- Experience operating within complex, regulated, multi‑vendor environments
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proven record of reducing escalation volatility and increasing delivery predictabilitySystems thinker with high political acuity and business judgment
