Summary
Responsible for directing the daily activities of the Centralized Supply Chain Warehouse and Onsite Central Distribution, Print Shop, and Mail Services departments that operate efficiently, meeting the needs of all entities within Memorial Healthcare System while maintaining superior customer service. Reports to the Vice President Supply Chain Management.
Responsibilities
- Directs the Facilities onsite Central Supply/Receiving/Logistics/Mail Room and Centralized Warehouse/IT Inventory and Print Shop.
- Establishes goals and executes strategy for these areas.
- Monitors market and industry trends to be proactive in procurement activities and benchmarks.
- Drives ongoing operational excellence and industry best practices to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Maintains a strong knowledge of suppliers and their capabilities, market trends, and technological advances.
- Establishes and executes plans for areas of responsibility.
- Assists VP of Supply Chain with planning of system‑wide Supply Chain activities and supports special projects as assigned.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates Supply Chain department budgets and ensures compliance with allocated funding.
- Leads Supply Chain‑stakeholders Committees within Supply Chain and at facilities.
- Directs disaster preparedness activities assigned, managing disaster supply and processes.
- Develops high‑level relationships with customer departments and establishes agile customer service.
- Hires and manages the performance of personnel to meet the needs of the assigned business unit, creating a results‑driven, ethical, customer‑service‑driven team. Provides coaching and mentoring to staff.
- Handles evaluation and implementation of point‑of‑use technology, collaborates with Strategic Sourcing for competitive bids, oversees product charges and revenue.
- Responsible for product and service evaluations, implementations, and conversions system‑wide; supports standardization across the healthcare system.
- Works with Value Analysis, Strategic Sourcing, Pharmacy Sourcing, and Systems/Business Intelligence; participates as member and lead in Value Analysis Program teams.
- Maintains alignment and partnership with all areas of Supply Chain Management.
- Manages vendor relationships across all facilities; ensures efficient delivery of products and inventory levels while aligning with financial objectives and safety, quality, and patient care goals.
- Coordinates organizational inventory.
- Handles departmental external and internal audits, maintaining metrics, statistics, and records related to Supply Chain Operations.
- Creates and monitors KPI’s/stats for areas of responsibility and staff productivity; meets established SLA for areas of responsibility.
- Develops and implements policies and processes; monitors and evaluates Supply Chain Operations compliance and performance across the organization.
- Maintains controls to achieve the most efficient Supply Chain process; maximizes use of the Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) where appropriate.
- Focuses on standardization and simplification to achieve operational and cost efficiencies for the Procurement to Payment process without compromising standards of care.
- Creates strategies for Inventory, Distribution/Logistics, Storage, and Project Management, including processes and executions.
- Develops and implements standards consistent with administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the business unit and organization.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure business needs are met; leads workgroups, creates work plans, deliverables, desired outcomes, and saving estimates with targeted timelines.
