Job Summary

Provides leadership to a team of project, program, and compliance managers to deliver multiple IT security projects, including large and complex initiatives, and advances cybersecurity programs to address evolving risk. Organizes workstreams for integrating InfoSec projects with business solutions and serves as a liaison between Cybersecurity and the business. Responsible for setting employee and group goals, defining organizational structure, assessing performance, giving feedback, and making pay recommendations. Interfaces regularly with executive leadership, OIT senior leadership, project managers, campus partners and stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. May advise and counsel senior leaders and supervise assigned staff.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide continuous leadership in maturity of cybersecurity programs to a team of project managers delivering multiple IT security projects, including large and complex projects.
  2. Drive on-time, on-scope delivery of IT security solutions, release new features, fix bugs, and reduce technical debt in partnership with university stakeholders.
  3. Manage expectations with stakeholders and prepare professional communications on information security topics.
  4. Define program/project scope, goals, and deliverables; maintain the program roadmap with clearly defined outcomes and value statements.
  5. Oversee the InfoSec program and project dashboards, scorecards, reporting, and metrics; monitor progress and provide updates to senior partners and team members.
  6. Produce cybersecurity program and project dashboards, scorecards, reports, and metrics; communicate status updates to senior leadership and partners.
  7. Organize workstreams for integrating cybersecurity projects with business unit solutions; serve as liaison between Cybersecurity and business units.
  8. Ensure effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple teams and vendors.
  9. Communicate program status and escalate issues to key stakeholders; convey information about cybersecurity initiatives in clear, understandable terms.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Educational & Experience Requirements

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Seven to nine years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
PMO experience; Scrum Certification; CISSP; CISM; CISA.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree.

Preferred Experience
Ten or more years of progressive project management experience; background in academia, research, and research computing; familiarity with research security programs; policy development for compliance; federal contracting processes; research administration systems and data; managing cybersecurity projects with diverse stakeholders; implementing NIST 800-171; DFARS or CMMC compliance.

Salary
Depending on experience, this position will pay between $110,000-$148,000. All GT employees are bound to GT/USG compensation policies.

Abilities, Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse population, perform under pressure, communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences, and effectively manage teams.

Knowledge
Strong knowledge of program management principles, Agile/Scrum lifecycles, identity and access management, budgeting and cost controls on IT projects, and enterprise IT infrastructure.

Skills
Advanced written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, project management tools (JIRA), statement of work creation, customer service, organization, problem-solving, and strong attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
