Head of Service (Sales & Operations) - HVAC & Piping Maintenance - NYC
Gryphon Oakwood are partnered with a leading $200M mechanical contractor based in New York City to appoint a Service Manager to lead operations and drive growth across its commercial and residential high-rise and healthcare service portfolio. This role carries responsibility for day-to-day service operations, technician performance, client relationships, and service revenue growth, with a strong focus on expanding maintenance contracts and supporting project-based service opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day service operations across commercial high-rise, residential high-rise, and healthcare clients
- Manage technician scheduling, productivity, and service performance to ensure safe, timely delivery
- Grow maintenance agreements and service revenue through existing client relationships and new opportunities
- Maintain strong customer relationships with property managers, facilities teams, and healthcare stakeholders
- Support pricing, estimating, and execution of small projects and service work orders
- Monitor P&L performance, margins, and utilization across the service division
- Collaborate with leadership to improve response times, workflow efficiency, and service quality
Qualifications
- Experience leading mechanical service operations within HVAC, plumbing, or piping environments
- Proven track record supporting or driving service revenue growth and contract expansion
- Strong understanding of service dispatch, technician management, and client-facing delivery
- Experience working in occupied commercial buildings, residential towers, or healthcare facilities preferred
- Ability to manage priorities across operations, customers, and financial performance
- Effective communicator with a hands‑on, solutions‑focused leadership style
