Principal Startup Investor Manager, (VC or Angel) , AWS Worldwide Startups

As a Principal Investment Manager within AWS, you will work with venture capital firms or angel investors to accelerate portfolio company success. You'll collaborate with key investors to unlock the full potential of their portfolio companies on AWS, enabling faster innovation and scaling. Your role focuses on creating meaningful initiatives between the investors, helping startups leverage cloud to achieve breakthrough growth. You will combine deep technical understanding of cloud and emerging technologies, such as generative AI, with business acumen to identify opportunities and ensure startups have access to the tools, expertise, and support needed to build world‑changing products on AWS infrastructure.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Execute and drive initiatives with venture firms, develop investor‑focused programs that accelerate portfolio company success
• Design and implement solutions that address specific startup and investor needs
• Collaborate on cross‑functional initiatives involving AWS Startups, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams
• Track program effectiveness and provide insights based on feedback and results
• Gather early‑stage market signals from investors and founders to inform AWS innovation and meet the evolving needs of tomorrow's breakthrough companies

Basic Qualifications

• Experience prior success in driving execution of large‑scale project plans with multiple teams in support of business goals
• 10+ years of experience in the technology industry with a focus on startups, ideally in combination with technical leadership roles
• Deep understanding of cloud computing architectures, services, and best practices and knowledge of generative AI technologies
• Ability to evaluate and guide early‑stage and scaling companies
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or technical management field or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree or MBA
• Leadership experience at startups or at Venture Capital firms
• Experience building and scaling cloud‑native applications from ground‑up
• Strong analytical and technical assessment capabilities
• Experience with commercial aspects of fast‑growing technical businesses
• Demonstrated ability to understand and evaluate emerging technologies
• Experience in multiple technical domains (AI/ML, Security, Infrastructure)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
